As the weather turns warmer, you’re probably starting to think about all of the spring and summer, garden-related gear you need to haul out and all of the planting you’ll soon be doing.
This year, make a point of upping your efforts to save water by being more diligent about your hose usage. Did you know that a running hose can waste approximately 6 gallons of water a minute? If that doesn’t make you re-evaluate letting your kids play with the running hose on hot sunny days, I don’t know what will.
In addition to being more aware of how much water you’re using when the hose is on, it’s well worth the small investment to buy a nozzle for your hose. This way, you’re not wasting water needlessly while going to turn the hose on or off and you can control the volume of water that’s coming out of the house at any given moment by changing the sprayer settings.
Every little bit saved counts towards your overall goals for frugal living.
